🏁 The Spielberg T3 Dilemma

The Red Bull Ring Turn 3 is a steep 61-meter uphill braking zone from 315+ km/h into a 1st-gear hairpin. In 2024, Jorge Martín ("Martinator") frequently attacked with late brake markers, squaring off the corner, while rookie Pedro Acosta attacked with breathtaking front-end confidence, carrying high roll speed right to the curbing.

📐 Trail-Braking & Kamm's Friction Circle

Tires have a finite grip budget: 100% braking upright leaves 0% for steering. As riders tip the bike to 64° of lean, they must progressively release brake lever pressure (trail-braking). Braking too deep pushes the Michelin front tire past its friction limit, causing the dreaded front-end tuck.
