Compare a concept, then collect the missing evidence

Which layout choices does this sketch model—and which questions require a real building study?

Compare three authored building scenarios, change their light, greenery and collaboration inputs, and click a building in Add mode to increase its count or percentage. These are concept drawings and scores, not Bloomberg’s floor plans, a building survey, an occupancy calculation or a compliance assessment. Each building contributes equally to the averages, regardless of area.

The light index has no lux unit, glazing model, climate data or measured illuminance. The time-light score is not annual daylight autonomy. The layout score does not measure health, productivity, acoustics or code compliance. Counts of collaboration zones are not desk capacity, room area or permitted occupancy. A high score cannot establish a safe, accessible or compliant design.

Try a worked example

Balanced uses light inputs 85, 70, 90: their rounded mean is 81.7. Greenery 25, 40, 30 gives 31.7%, and collaboration 3 + 5 + 4 gives 12 zones. At 13:30, the time factor is 1 − |13.5 − 13| × 0.055 = 0.9725; round(81.7 × 0.95 × 0.9725) gives 75. Layout points 70 + 10 + 10 + 12 = 102 are capped at 99. These are authored arithmetic conventions.

Separate the real project from the schematic

Halter’s own project record identifies Bloomberg’s Zurich fit-out at Bahnhofstrasse 13/17, constructed October 2020–April 2021. It describes 660m² across three buildings and a connecting perforated-aluminium wall structure. That primary record supports project context, not this app’s north/center/south footprints, bridges, furniture, percentages or historical 1–3 address claim. Before comparing a real layout, collect measured floor areas, dimensions, openings, obstructions, room uses and required circulation. Decide what you want to compare: daylight access at desks, glare, plant maintenance, speech privacy or collaboration demand. None of those measurements is collected by this sketch, and the equal building averages do not account for different floor areas.

Read the score thresholds precisely

The time factor is max(0.65, 1 − |selected hour − 13| × 0.055). The time-light score is rounded average light × 0.95 ×time factor, capped 98; its percentage is a model display convention. The drawn sun angle moves linearly from 27° at 08:00 to 153° at 18:00. No latitude, date, weather or daylight-saving calculation enters either formula.

Layout points start at 70. Average light adds 10 at 80 or above,5 at 70–79.9; average greenery adds 10 at 30% or above, 5 at 20–29.9%. Collaboration adds 12 for 10–14 zones, 6 above 14, otherwise 4. The total is clamped 50–99. Category labels describe these thresholds only. Changing the sun slider changes time-light score and drawing, not the light-input average or layout points.

SIA’s own catalog lists SIA 387/4:2023 as lighting calculation and requirements documentation. This identifies a relevant technical reference, but the app does not implement its procedures or verify any standard. There is no established SIA meaning for the app’s old “light index ≥75” claim. Understand canvas actions and the saved record

Adding a collaboration pod increments a building’s zone count up to 10; adding greenery increments its input by 5 percentage points when it is 55 or below. Symbols are automatically distributed by the drawing routine: your click is not saved as a new coordinate or an area allocation. Inspect identifies a building and marks the scenario custom; it does not create an occupancy analysis.

Presets replace the three building inputs while preserving sun time and active tool. Reset restores the default state and 13:30 time. Export records configuration and current calculated values with hypothetical scope. The legacy customModules array is an initial fixture and is not used by the drawing or edited by canvas clicks. The app does not save layouts in local storage or import an exported record.
