4 Rotations LoadedThe Sweet Science: Cadence & Energy Systems
Championship boxing requires repeated high-intensity glycolytic bursts buffered by aerobic recovery. In professional camps, athletes train at specific work-to-rest ratios:
- Pro Championship: 3 minutes work, 1 minute rest (3:1 ratio). Focus is maintained on shot volume, spatial ring control, and counter-punch trigger speed.
- Olympic / Amateur: 3 rounds of 3 minutes with rapid combination flurries.
- Cadence Pressure: Calling strikes every 3 seconds forces the central nervous system to reflexively assemble multi-angle attacks without over-thinking.
Standard Boxing Numbering System
Mastering standard corner terminology creates instant kinetic execution without delay:
- 1: Lead Jab (distance control, feinting, blindfold)
- 2: Straight Cross / Rear Hand (power shot through guard)
- 3: Lead Hook (rotational torque targeting jaw or temple)
- 4: Rear Hook (mid-range power flank attack)
- 5 / 6: Lead & Rear Uppercuts (penetrating high guard)
- Slip / Roll: Immediate head movement off the centerline upon exit
