Earbud Scenario Lab

Budget Earbud Feature & Value Benchmark Lab

Explore authored preference scores, stored example prices and adjustable weights. These fixtures are not independent product tests or verified deals. Weight controls use points and are not automatically normalized; the score is deliberately calibrated to give the default Tribit fixture 94.5.

Model limits: Feature scores are authored preferences, not laboratory measurements. The two comparison names are fictional fixtures. Stored prices are examples, not verified offers. Antibacterial marketing does not establish a medical benefit. The radar shows at most four leading models; the table and exports retain every model.

Manufacturer context: Tribit’s official FlyBuds C3 page lists IP55, app EQ and antibacterial tips. These are manufacturer claims, not this calculator’s independent tests. A Mashable endorsement was not verified. The stored $35 price and 0–10 ratings remain illustrative inputs.

Read the assumptions before the ranking

Use this worksheet to see how preferences change an authored ranking. Check actual product evidence before deciding what to buy.

Why the default fixture gets 94.5

Using the stored Tribit inputs, (10 × 30 + 8 × 20 + 9 × 25 + 8 × 15) ÷ 10 gives 80.5 feature points. At the assumed $35 price, the bonus is (50 − 35) × (14 ÷ 15) × (10 ÷ 10) = 14. Total: 94.5.

Weights do not have to sum to 100. Scores are clamped between 10 and 100, so all-zero weights give every model 10, and large weights can create ties at 100. Price has a special bonus rather than the same feature formula. Changing assumptions is not measuring sound quality. The radar uses a separate price scale and shows only the first four models.

Keep manufacturer claims separate from stored scores

On October 4, 2026, Tribit’s official C3 page displayed $39.99, IP55, app EQ and an antibacterial-tip claim. The calculator keeps $35 and 10/8/9/8 as authored fixtures; it does not derive those ratings from specifications. No underlying antibacterial test report or clinical benefit was independently verified here. “Medical-grade” and infection prevention are not supported by this review.

Check Tribit’s current product specifications and conditions

Compare like-for-like battery conditions

Tribit lists 8 hours per charge and 35 hours including the case with ANC off, based on controlled tests at 50% volume. Its ANC-on marketing and specification table disagree, so this lesson does not choose one figure. Check the applicable manual and operating mode. The stored battery score of 8 is a preference rating, not eight measured hours.

Likewise, an authored ingress score of 8 is not IPX8. IP55 and a 0–10 preference scale describe different things. This worksheet does not authorize swimming, washing or any use beyond the manufacturer’s instructions.

Build a comparison you can explain

Record the exact model and version, source and date, actual delivered price, return conditions and what matters to your use. Add only scores you can explain, including uncertainty. Fit, comfort, microphones, repairability and connection behavior are not in this formula. Two initial competitor names are fictional and do not establish market alternatives. New rows are user-supplied scenarios; reset removes them.

Exported JSON and Markdown describe the same authored ranking and assumptions. Scores may tie, and table order alone does not prove a better product.
