How to Mod College Slam on Sega Saturn
1. Locate the Roster Table: In the Sega Saturn disc image (or extracted 0.BIN), player rosters begin at sector offset 0x0004C820. Each team possesses 5 roster slots (2 starters for 2v2 arcade play, 3 bench reserves).
2. Name Strings: Names are encoded in uppercase ASCII with 12-byte fixed buffers terminated by null bytes (0x00).
3. Packed Stat Nibbles: College Slam uses 4-bit nibbles for attributes (0 to 9 rating). For example, Speed 8 and 3-Pointer 9 are combined into a single byte 0x89.
4. Flashing to Real Hardware: You can play your updated 2024-2025 roster on a real Sega Saturn console using Saroo, Fenrir, Terraonion MODE, Rhea/Phoebe ODE, or Pseudo Saturn Kai burned discs.
