1. Hydraulic & Scavenge Failures

In modern Formula 1 V6 turbocharged hybrid units, the scavenge oil pump operates under extreme G-forces. If cavitation or pump seizure occurs, line pressure plummets below 2.0 bar within 400 milliseconds, starving journal bearings and causing immediate piston seizure.

2. Failsafe Electronic Shutdown

Telemetry ECUs (Standard Electronic Control Units) run threshold surveillance. When knock sensors record pre-ignition in excess of 8G or oil starvation is confirmed, the safety map cuts spark and high-voltage ERS deployment to prevent catastrophic block perforation.

3. FIA Grid Penalty Rules

Under FIA Formula 1 Sporting Regulations Article 28, introducing a 5th ICE, TC, MGU-H, or MGU-K results in a 10-place grid drop for the first infraction, and 5 places for subsequent elements. Cumulative penalties exceeding 15 places require starting from the rear of the grid.
