Submitting an on-camera audition tape requires balancing energy, natural authority, and teleprompter conversational fluency without looking like you're reading.

01 Camera Eye-line & Headroom

  • Position your camera lens exactly at eye level. Looking down makes you look passive; looking up distorts proportions.
  • Maintain proper headroom: top of your head should sit just below the upper third line.
  • Do not dart your eyes back and forth across wide text lines. Keep the teleprompter window narrow.

02 Broadcast Cadence (140-160 WPM)

  • Audition clips have strict time cutoffs (typically 60s or 90s). Don't rush into 190+ WPM machine-gun delivery.
  • Use deliberate micro-pauses at commas and cue transitions to let punchy punchlines land.
  • Deliver your hook in the first 8 seconds before any reviewer scrolls away.

03 Personality Over Perfection
