How this NBA Rotation Engine works & Technical Methodology
Net Rating & Efficiency Modeling
Each player possesses calibrated per-100 possession offensive rating (ORTG) and defensive rating (DRTG) offsets grounded in NBA tracking metrics. Lineup efficiency calculates collective offensive spacing synergy, primary ball-handler usage compatibility, and rim protection weights.
240 Regulation Minute Constraint
NBA regulation games comprise 48 minutes with exactly 5 players on court at all times (48 × 5 = 240 player minutes). Intervals with fewer than 5 or more than 5 players are flagged in red on the on-court validation strip.
Tactical Geometry & Spacing
The half-court radar reflects active player offensive positioning: ball-handlers at the top of the key, floor spacers on the wings and corners, and rim anchors in the dunker spot / paint.
