Half-Court Isolation Arena
Possession: Challenger · 24s ClockHow the Isolation & Contest Engine Works
This simulator models real-time 1v1 basketball mechanics: offensive ball-handler dribble separation, defensive shadowing vector calculations, contest proximity, and parabolic shot trajectory physics.
Inspired by dominant 1v1 shutout matches—such as the viral 31-0 victory over former NBA talent where the opponent was limited to only 4 rushed shot attempts—defensive positioning directly suppresses shot attempts and degrades shooting percentages from 65% down to under 10%.
Controls & Shot Timing Guide
Move: Arrow Keys / WASD, or click/drag on court, or mobile pad.
Crossover / Step Back: Press [A/D] or [Space] or the Crossover button to break defensive momentum and gain 3–5 ft of space.
Jump Shot: Click or hold the green Hold & Release Shot button (or [J] key) to fill the shot meter. Release precisely in the green zone (68%–84%) for optimal release quality.
Contest: High defensive pressure (smothering) cuts off lanes and forces steals or contested clanks.
View Contest & Probability Mathematics
The shot conversion probability P(make) is computed as:
P(make) = BaseSkill × MeterQuality × ArcFactor × (1 - ContestRatio^1.6)
Where ContestRatio is determined by defender proximity (under 3.8 feet is heavily contested; under 2.2 feet is smothered), defensive elevation timing, and reaction latency.
