In the late 1990s, prolific singer-songwriter Neal Casal recorded intimate home demos and fully arranged multitrack explorations on his personal Otari 8-track reel-to-reel recorder. These master reels remained untouched in archive boxes for 25 years before audio preservation engineers carefully baked and transferred them to preserve Casal's timeless voice.
The unreleased song cycle "Book Of Stories", spearheaded by lead single "Muscatine", captures pure analog dynamics: natural magnetic tape compression, genuine room reflections, and acoustic fingerpicking resonance free from modern digital overprocessing.
