By carving deep organic valleys, stepped topographies, or curved profiles across the block, the inner pigmented cores and concentric rings of Californian cedar are dramatically exposed.
Standard drawing pencils feature a hexagonal cross section (typically 7.5 mm across flats) that nests into a dense honeycomb array. When cut at varying slopes and heights, the angled wooden facets form natural terraced contours, while the 3.3 mm colored wax/clay leads emerge as vibrant mosaic islands.
This studio calculates the precise height offset for each pencil coordinate in the matrix. Use the export tool to download standard 3D Wavefront OBJ meshes for digital rendering, or export CSV/SVG cutting blueprints indicating depth measurements for bandsaw, dremel, and chisel woodworking.
