The 2.5-Second Threshold

NFL and collegiate pass rushers average 2.45 to 2.80 seconds to hit an unassisted quarterback. When an edge rusher beats an offensive tackle outside, stepping up into the B-gap forces the rusher past the launch point, giving the passer an extra 0.4 seconds.

Blindside & Unblocked Protections

Cover 0 and fire zone blitzes bring more rushers than linemen can block. Identifying the free rusher at the snap dictates throwing to the "hot" receiver running into the vacated blitz zone rather than holding the football.

Kinematics of Collision Prevention

Concussions and shoulder injuries overwhelmingly occur when a quarterback is hit mid-throw or pinned from behind without bracing. Delivering the football in rhythm or sliding down early eliminates uncontrolled impact forces.
