Photons pass through both slits as a continuous probability wave, producing spatial interference fringes on the screen.

The Quantum Observer Effect

In quantum physics, measuring which slit a photon passes through collapses its wave function. When path information is known (D=1), interference disappears and yields two distinct classical particle bands.


In a Delayed-Choice Quantum Eraser setup, if path information is destroyed before detection, wave interference is restored even after the photon has traversed the slits!
