Why Daniel Jones Found Tyler Warren Wide Open
On opening drives, scripted play-action creates vertical voids in middle-field coverage. By selling the inside zone to the running back, the second-level linebackers (Mike and Will) step up 2 to 3 yards toward the line of scrimmage.
Tyler Warren (tight end aligned inline or wing) chips the defensive end before running directly up the boundary seam. In Cover 2 or Cover 3, the deep safeties must honor the outside boundary go-route and dig concept, creating a 5 to 7 yard honey hole behind the recovering linebackers.

Defensive Scheme Mechanics
- Cover 2 Zone: Two deep half safeties. Weak against seam routes between the numbers and hash, especially with play-action freeze.
- Cover 1 Man: Single high safety with man coverage underneath. Tight ends exploit leverage against inside-trailing linebackers.
- Cover 3 Sky: 3 deep thirds, 4 underneath defenders. The curl-flat defender must hesitate on play action, opening the intermediate seam.
- Cover 0 Blitz: 6-man pass rush with zero safety help over the top. Throw must come out under 1.8 seconds.
