Official RIAA Digital Single Formula

Since February 2016, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) counts both permanent digital downloads and on-demand audio and video streams toward Digital Single Awards.

Consumption Type	Ratio	Single Equivalent Unit
Digital Download	1 : 1	1.00 Unit per purchase
On-Demand Stream (Audio/Video)	150 : 1	0.00667 Unit (150 streams = 1 unit)
Album Equivalents (TEA / SEA)	10 tracks / 1,500 streams	1.00 Album Unit

Note: The RIAA certifies shipments and verified streaming consumption submitted by authorized record labels after a formal audit by independent accounting firms (such as Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman).
