Ringtone Trimmer
Tap to choose a video or audio file
MP4, MOV, MP3, M4A and more. Audio is decoded on your device only.
No file loaded yet. Choose a song video above to begin.
How it works, in plain English
Save the song video to your iPhone (Files or Photos), then load it above. The tool pulls out just the audio track.
iPhone ringtones must be 30 seconds or shorter. Drag the start and end sliders to grab the best part, usually the chorus.
Hit Preview to hear exactly what will ring. Happy with it? Download the clip to your Files app.
Open the clip in GarageBand or a converter app, tap the Share button, and choose Ringtone. It then appears in Settings, Sounds and Haptics, Ringtone.
Common questions
Why does the clip have to be 30 seconds or less?
iOS caps ringtones at 30 seconds. This trimmer enforces that limit automatically so your clip is always accepted.
Does my video get uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens inside your browser on your own device. The file never leaves your phone or computer.
The Share menu does not show a Ringtone option. What now?
Use the free GarageBand app: create a new Audio Recorder project, drag your downloaded clip in from Files, then tap the arrow, My Songs, long-press the project, Share, Ringtone.
What format is the download?
A standard WAV file that GarageBand and converter apps accept. They convert it to the ringtone format when you share it as a ringtone.
