How it works
Stacking rules
Consecutive counts run one after another; the terms add together. Concurrent counts run at the same time; the longest term governs. Mixed scenarios apply consecutive groups sequentially while concurrent groups run in parallel.
Good-time credits
Most jurisdictions reduce the executed term by a percentage for good behavior. Federal: 15% (54 days/year). NY violent felonies: ~33%. NY non-violent: 50%. Truth-in-sentencing states: 15% or none. This tool applies the rate to the aggregate imposed term after stacking.
Pretrial custody
Time served before sentencing is credited day-for-day against the aggregate term. Enter the total days in custody prior to the sentencing date.
Parole eligibility
Calculated from the sentencing date based on the imposed aggregate term (before good-time). Actual release depends on board discretion, program completion, and disciplinary record.
