Astrophysical Analysis

Chromospheric Hydrogen-Alpha: At totality, the Moon blocks the Sun's blinding 5,800 K photosphere. Prominences glow intense electric pink-red because 10,000 K dense hydrogen plasma emits via the Balmer-alpha electron transition (n=3 → n=2 at 656.3 nm), suspended in twisted magnetic flux tubes over the million-degree corona.
