Oncoming Car Store Worker Pedestrian Braking Point

Physical Kinematics Formulation

This model evaluates two competing physical events: vehicle deceleration and heroic pedestrian extraction sprint.

Total Stop = (v × t_react) + (v² / (2 × a_brake))

Where v is velocity (ft/s), t_react is perception-brake delay, and a_brake = g × 32.174 ft/s². The worker sprints across the sidewalk-to-crosswalk corridor at dynamic sprint velocity.

Context: Modeled after the viral report of a heroic store worker snatching a young pedestrian to safety before vehicle intrusion. Standard dry pavement friction = 0.7–0.8g, typical human panic sprint = 15–18 ft/s.
