UEFA Champions League Registration Rules (Article 31)

Under official UEFA Club Competitions regulations for the 36-club single league phase, each club submits List A prior to matchday 1:

• List A Ceiling: Maximum 25 players, including at least 2 goalkeepers.
• Locally Trained Players (LTP): Minimum 8 players must be locally trained. At least 4 must be Club-Trained (3 seasons or 36 months between age 15–21 at the club). Up to 4 can be Association-Trained (trained in the same national association).
• Vacant Spot Penalty: If a club registers fewer than 8 locally trained players (or fewer than 4 club-trained), the maximum squad of 25 is reduced by the missing quantity. Clubs cannot substitute non-homegrown players into these designated slots.
• Non-Locally Trained Cap: Maximum 17 players on List A can be non-homegrown.
• List B (Youth): Unlimited roster size for players born on or after 1 January 2003 who have been eligible to play for the club for any uninterrupted period of two years since their 15th birthday.
