How the stems are isolated: Vocals = L+R center summation (preserves panned-center vocal melody and sub-bass). Bass = 20–250 Hz bandpass on the summed signal. Drums = highpass above 1 kHz with transient-emphasizing compression. Other = residual 250 Hz–4 kHz band (pads, mid-range content).
