BLE Beacon Fingerprinting
Meta Ray-Ban glasses and Snap Spectacles maintain continuous low-energy Bluetooth links to their host smartphone. Their advertisement packets carry distinct 16-bit Company Identifiers (e.g. 0x01AB for Luxottica) and service UUIDs reserved for telemetry and capture commands.
RSSI Path Loss & Distance
By measuring the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) against a calibrated 1-meter reference power (TX Power), distance is triangulated via the log-distance path loss formula: \(d = 10^{(P_{0} - RSSI)/(10 \cdot n)}\). Signals above -60 dBm mean the wearer is within arm's reach.
