Participation & Identity Bylaws

Players must meet the WNBA and USA Basketball eligibility criteria regarding female athlete participation limits and competitive qualification standards.

Article V, Section 1(b) - Domestic Age Rule

22-Year Old / Graduation Rule

A player who is a US athlete is eligible if she turns 22 during the calendar year of the relevant Draft, or has graduated/exhausted four years of NCAA eligibility.

Article V, Section 1(c) - International Prospect

20-Year Old International Provision

An International Player who does not play college basketball is eligible for the WNBA Draft if she turns at least 20 years old during the calendar year of the Draft.

Article V, Section 2 - Early Entry Notice

10-Day Renunciation Deadline

Underclassmen must officially notify the WNBA league office of draft declaration no later than 10 days prior to the draft date.
