The Mechanical Controversy: Wraith vs. 500-700hr Survivors

In Dead by Daylight, Philip Ojomo (The Wraith) moves at 6.0 m/s (150%) while cloaked. However, initiating uncloak sounds his Wailing Bell for a rigid 3.0-second channel, dropping speed to a sluggish 1.6 m/s (40%) before delivering a brief 1.0-second speed burst at 6.6 m/s (165%).

The Reddit Complaint Solved: Against alert survivors who simply hold W or repeatedly vault dropped pallets, the 1.6 m/s uncloak trough creates a massive distance deficit (Δ = 2.4 m/s lost for 3 seconds = 7.2 meters lost). Furthermore, the infamous spam-vault break prompt contention allows survivors to enter fast/medium vaults on a dropped pallet, nullifying the killer's spacebar interaction prompt and turning a 50/50 mindgame into an unplayable stall unless Enduring and Spirit Fury are equipped to guarantee an immediate hit.
