The USA Basketball '7 Spots' Tradition
Following official USA Basketball Women's National Team practices during international tournament preparations (including FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup and Olympic training camps), elite perimeter players regularly engage in high-intensity shooting mini-games. This friendly yet fiercely competitive 7-Spots Shootout tests stamina, spot-up consistency, release mechanics under psychological pressure, and spatial muscle memory.
Rule 01: The Perimeter Arc
7 designated spots around the FIBA/WNBA 3-point line: Left Baseline Corner, Left Wing, Left Slot, Top of the Key, Right Slot, Right Wing, and Right Baseline Corner.
Rule 02: Make to Advance
In standard "Make-to-Advance" mode, an athlete must drain a shot before moving to the subsequent station. Every miss leaves you stranded on that spot while opponents fire away!
Rule 03: The Race to Finish
First player to drain the final corner triple wins bragging rights, locker room respect, and sets the tone for championship readiness.
