The timeline starts with three supplied records, none labeled Source added. Its need sources counter counts every record whose verification label is not Source added, including the Supplied claim category. Adding one record labeled Source added makes four total records while need sources stays three. Both bars here use forty pixels per record. That label is entered by the user: the source does not retrieve a link, verify the claim or establish a legal outcome. The saved political claims remain unverified source content. Filters change which cards are visible, but the counters still use the full data array. In that four-record example, the Unverified filter displays the two originally labeled Unverified. The need sources counter remains three because it also includes the original Supplied claim. Both bars use eighty pixels per record. Export likewise writes the full event array rather than only the visible filter result. Actor count is the number of unique actor strings, not a count of verified participants or institutions. The source trims new claim text and requires it to be nonempty. Blank dates and actors become Unstated. It saves the complete array locally and escapes text when rendering cards. There is a subtle reset boundary: on a fresh page with no saved data, data directly references the seed array, so adding a record also changes that seed. Reset then clones the expanded seed, rather than restoring just three records. After an actual reload, saved data is parsed separately from a fresh three-record seed, and reset restores those three records. This source behavior is preserved; neither path independently checks the claims.
