How AP Poll Mathematics Works

The Associated Press College Football Poll surveys 62 sports writers and broadcasters nationwide. Each voter submits a 1–25 ballot. A team ranked #1 earns 25 points, #2 receives 24 points, descending to 1 point for #25. A unanimous #1 gets 1,550 points (62 × 25).
