The Mechanical Override Dilemma

Traditional FMVSS regulations were established under the assumption of a licensed human driver capable of exerting direct torque onto a steering column or mechanical pressure to a hydraulic brake master cylinder. With full drive-by-wire and zero cabin controls, passenger intervention is physically impossible.

Teleoperation Latency Bounds
