In modern football analytics, an explosive play isn't only an 80-yard offensive strike. Elite defensive playmakers create explosive swings through intercepted passing lanes, tackles for loss (TFL), strip sacks, and pick-six returns. The Robber Technique
Robber coverage places a hybrid safety/linebacker underneath the deep shell to intercept crossing slants and dig routes that offensive coordinators assume are wide open over the middle.
