About the Kinetic Art Simulation

Inspired by Brooklyn artist Justin Blinder's kinetic physical bicycle installation (reported via The Verge). The original physical mechanism features an electronically controlled magnetic brake caliper directly coupled to the rear flywheel. As a cyclist pedals across NYC geography, real municipal housing inflation indexes dynamically tighten the caliper—translating the invisible, systemic burden of rent escalation and working-class displacement into direct, exhausting physical exhaustion.
