WHY DIRECT USB-C FEMALE MATTERS IN THE FIELD

Standard USB-A dongles (like the Nooelec Nano 3 or RTL-SDR v4) require an external USB-C to USB-A adapter or dongle tail. In mobile field deployments with Android SDRangel or SDRTouch:

  • Mechanical Lever Strain: Stiff OTG adapters act as levers on smartphone USB-C charging ports, causing disconnects and socket fatigue during outdoor hikes.
  • Contact Resistance & Voltage Sag: Chained adapter pins introduce 0.15V–0.3V drops, causing RTL2832U demodulator brownouts when the tuner heats up.

Thermal equilibrium is computed dynamically via Newton's law of cooling:
