Notion suits a calendar connected to editable documents and database properties. Asana suits task ownership, review handoffs and dependencies. Trello suits card-based planning with explicit dates. Storyflow suits ideas, scripts and a visual calendar on one canvas. These are workflow judgments based on the official documents below, rather than a measured speed ranking.
Notion
A calendar view requires a database Date property. You can switch between date properties, show a week, drag a page to another day and stretch it across dates. Each item remains a database page.
Try this: create separate production and publication dates. Choose which date the calendar is actually displaying; a single view should not silently mix the two.
The current social media template describes platforms, creative assets, schedules, statuses, custom fields, task dependencies and collaborative review. Its calendar can reschedule tasks by dragging them.
Try this: make the review handoff a named task. Verify the exact plan and permission requirements for custom fields, dependencies and approvals before rolling the workflow out.
The native Calendar view is available to Premium and Enterprise workspaces. Cards can have start and due dates and be stretched across dates. The separate Calendar Power-Up displays cards with due dates and offers an iCalendar feed.
Try this: decide whether you need the paid native view or the distinct Power-Up. A due date on a card is not proof that its asset or review is finished.
The creator page describes ideas, scripts, a content calendar and videos on one canvas, with AI-assisted drafts. Current pricing lists paid standalone plans and image generation on Pro and Max. Standalone Free is upcoming; invited collaboration is a distinct free route available now.
Try this: verify calendar-to-board editing and your required access in a real trial. Visual proximity is useful context; it does not establish that an item has human approval.
Sources reviewed October 5, 2026. This guide uses public primary documents, not authenticated account or publishing tests. Asana’s help pages returned an empty loading shell during retrieval; the substantive current template page supports the scoped comparison. No score, cheapest-plan promise or feature-absence claim is inferred from missing text.
The date is one part of the handoff.
A usable plan names the owner, the material being delivered, the review state and the effort needed on the day. The calendar makes a promise visible. The team still needs to check that promise.
Keep production and publication distinct
The desk below tracks an all-day planned delivery date. It does not represent timed publication, time zones, automatic posting or a live connection to a vendor.
Use capacity as an assumption
Enter a daily effort budget in hours for each owner. Two items on the same date may fit; one large item may exceed it. The calculation uses your entered effort, not measured productivity or an AI estimate. It deliberately does not distribute work across a range of dates.
Review the actual material
Owner, date, human approval and nonempty copy are a simple declared readiness checklist. Passing it is not a legal, brand, factual or publishing guarantee. An item can be approved and still exceed the owner’s entered daily effort budget.

Source JSON preserves full entered text and leading-zero owner names. CSV escapes spreadsheet formulas and is an interchange table, not a vendor-specific import guarantee. Restored plans require a fresh review. Files you save are your persistence; this page does not store a shared team database.
A few decisions worth making.
Which tool is best for a small team?
The strongest fit is the one your team can keep current. Start with your existing document, task or canvas workflow, then run a real trial with one review cycle. This guide offers workflow matches, not a universal winner.
Does this desk publish to social networks?
No. It is a local planning and handoff workbench. It has no account connection, live synchronization or automatic posting.
Does a green readiness check mean the content is approved?
It means the declared owner, date, copy and human approval state pass the limited checks shown. The person selecting Approved remains responsible for the review.
Can I move a date and keep my original copy?
Yes. Calendar movement updates the same item’s planned all-day date and invalidates its prior review. Full copy stays in the editable source and exports.
