Keep each stage distinct

A message being sent is not the same as a request being accepted. A useful timeline preserves the stages so you can describe the unresolved part accurately.

Put it into practice

Record the sending event

Use the actual date and a reference to the sent message or receipt. If an attempt failed, record the failure rather than writing the intended action as if it completed.

Record acknowledgement separately

Delivery tracking, a case number and a human reply establish different facts. Note exactly which one you have. A parcel marked delivered does not by itself show that the merchant reviewed its contents or issued a refund.

Use a resolution event only with evidence

Record a refund confirmation or the relevant account result when available, keeping those two stages distinct if they occur on different days. The tool can sort the record but cannot contact the business, inspect the account or certify completion.

A worked example

Your return timeline may be complete up to delivery and still have no refund event. That is a clear description of the current stage, not a reason to relabel delivery as success.

Refund, return and booking case timeline organizer

An administrative case is easier to follow when dates, events and evidence references share one chronological record. Enter what actually happened to create an ordered timeline and CSV export. The tool sorts your notes; it does not verify a business's response or compute legal deadlines.

Dates must be real YYYY-MM-DD calendar dates. Evidence references should identify your own receipt or correspondence without pasting unnecessary personal data. Elapsed days describe the entered sequence, not an entitlement, escalation policy or guaranteed response time.

Inputs are processed in this page. Nothing is submitted to the app or a business. Download a result to keep it; this page does not automatically save your work.

What to keep in mind

This browser tool neither contacts a company nor submits a cancellation, refund or booking change. Its output is your editable preparation. A planned reminder does not extend a contractual deadline or prove a request was received.
