1. Effective Striking & Grappling
The top tier criteria. Striking impact, damage visible in the opponent's equilibrium, and immediate fight-ending threats (knockdowns, tight submission attempts) outrank sheer volume or non-damaging positional control.
2. Effective Aggressiveness
Only assessed if effective striking and grappling are 100% equal. Moving forward aggressively while landing blows counts; absorbing punishment while walking forward does not.
3. Fighting Area Control
The final tie-breaker. Dictating the pace and location of the bout in the center of the cage or against the fence. Control without damage is subservient to damaging strikes.
